Product Information

Sized for student use, this lab leads students in the construction of a miniature AC generator. A hand sized model is easy for students to build and examine the all the key components and performance of a regularly sized generator. The number of coils and speed of the magnets can be controlled and manipulated for easy student modification and multiple lab experiments. Developed by Brent Biddle, this activity includes materials for six student groups — two spools of magnetic wire, 18 small magnets, six plastic spools, and instructions. Grades 5–12.
