Product InformationStudents use the manipulatives in this activity kit, developed by Teacher Carole MacMullan, to depolarize and repolarize a neuron as they model sodium and potassium ion movement through gated channel proteins embedded in the plasma membrane of a neuron. Students then restore the neuron to its resting potential state with the help of ATP and a sodium/potassium pump. Includes materials for 15 student groups and instructions. Grades 10–12.
