This pendulum can be used to show both simple harmonic motion and chaotic motion. By loosening one of the arms you can create two pendulums in one with different periods; by loosening both arms you can create three pendulums in one.
To demonstrate resonance, simply apply a small amount of energy to the multiple pendulums.
When more energy is applied, so many variable forces act upon the multiple pendulums that the motion clearly becomes unpredictable, or chaotic.
