Product InformationAffordable, Easy, Fun Present these demonstrations in front of your class to excite your students about learning core physics concepts. Set up and execution are simple, so you can spend more time engaging your students. Ideal for introducing a unit or using as reinforcement after a lesson, these demos are available for all fundamental physical science topics. Show your students how a current carrying conductor behaves when placed in an external magnetic field. This demonstration consists of two conducting arms, which hang from an easily adjustable pivot point, which can be connected to a DC current (up to five amps) through a wire. A metal bracket holds two pairs of ceramic magnets above and below the conducting arms and when voltage is applied across the conducting arms, a magnetic field is generated which interacts with the ceramic magnets, moving the arms left or right. Alter the direction of the current and the orientation of the magnets and let students predict the how the arms will moved based on the currents being applied and magnetic field direction. Includes four ceramic magnets and a demonstration guide. Required but not included are a DC battery or three 5D batteries in series. Size: 35.5 x 50.8 cm. Tell a Friend about this item
