Designed by science teacher Joe Gilbert, this exciting kit will teach students to recognize the common distinguishing phenomena that occur during chemical reactions.

Using non-hazardous chemicals, students will perform synthesis, decomposition, single/double displacement and neutralization reactions.

They will learn to recognize each reaction by observing qualities such as effervescence, color change, temperature change and the formation of precipitate. By performing these experiments, students will gain an understanding of the basic characteristics of these fundamental chemical processes. Grades 7-10.

Includes materials for 10 student groups: crucibles, microfuge tubes, pipets, test tubes, tubing, stoppers, bromothymol blue, phenolphthalein, wide range pH indicator, baking soda, magnesium metal, copper II sulfate, copper II chloride, sodium carbonate, ammonium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid, vinegar, microtube holder and complete instructions.
