Product InformationStephen Berr has developed a fun and easy height finder. Insert your laser pointer into the holder. Point to the top of the object you are measuring. Keep the protracter parallel with the ground. Find the tangent of the angle and add that to the height from the ground to your eye and VOILA! you have the exact height of the object. For younger students, set the angle of the protractor to 45 degrees and have your students move torward or away until the laser reaches the top of the object. Since the tangent of 45 degrees is equal to 1, add the distance they are from the object to the distance from the ground to their eye and Voila! they have the height without using trigonometry. Includes Teacher's guide and reproducible students instruction. Laser not included. Tell a Friend about this item
