Product Information

Appropriate for Grades 9-12
Add a charge to your electricity unit!

An electric charge creates an electric field in the space surrounding it. In this new lab activity, developed by Physics Teacher Jeffrey M. Wetherhold, students map the electric field around various conductors (copper rings, copper strips and a copper &"house&"). They plot voltage readings obtained from the surrounding field on graph paper and then draw in the electric field lines and equipotential lines to create a pictorial view of the field.
Required but not included: Digital Multimeter with Probe (69507-00), Power Souce (64250-41), and a Ring Stand with Clamp and Support Rod (63100-01).

great results

I have been using this since I developed it 10 years ago. It gives excellent results and is very economical to maintain. Tips: 1.Make sure the voltage probe is held perpendicular to the bottom of the tank. 2. Don't use too much water.

Not worth the money
Reviewed By:  Mike
I recently bought this for my school district thinking it would be better than one I had created and it did not perform like expected. You can easily make one just the same, and less money with a Tupperware container and lab supplies.
