Product InformationIt looks like a classroom decoration, but this mobile is also a lesson in torque, mass, force, center of gravity, levers, equilibrium, and more. The mobile consists of seven labeled wooden blocks of varying shapes and densities, balanced by four support rods, and lengths of string. After assembling the mobile, students use meter sticks and spring scales (sold separately) to take measurements and figure out unknown masses of different blocks, and required distances between blocks for balanced levers. Developed by Bruce Yeany. Includes: instructions, worksheets, discussions of results, and suggested follow-up activities. Tell a Friend about this item
