Product Information

Prior to the 17th century, it was generally believed that living things could arise from nonliving materials, a process called “spontaneous generation”.
Using an S-shaped flask of his own design, Louis Pasteur was able to disprove this “theory” once and for all. In this brilliant lab, developed by teacher Patricia Herzberg, students recreate Pasteur’s famous experiment, putting the scientific method into practice, and determining if Pasteur’s experiment was valid.

Includes materials for five students groups: 15 125mL Erlenmeyer flasks, 5 #5 rubber stoppers (solid), 5 #5 rubber stoppers (one-hole), 5 S-shaped collection tubes, bouillon, instructions.

Grades 7–10.
