Product Information

Experience adventure on the high seas with this unique activity that helps you bring the physics of historic sailing days into the classroom. Students power a sailboat on a wire cable using wind power. Students learn by adjusting the angle of attack of the sails how the forces cause a boat to go forward.

Lessons on moments, acceleration, force, pressure, vectors and center of mass can be explored while learning about the science of sailing.

The unit comes with one sailboat, two different sized sails, counter weight, 20 foot cable with rings at each end, and instructions.
