Product InformationGet out of your classroom and discover the benefits of using natural resources to teach your students about water ecosystems. Science teachers Lynn and Bert Wartski teamed up to design this five-part lab that allows students to determine the physical and chemical characteristics of a stream ecosystem, observe the organisms present in the sample and determine water quality. With the individual labs, students can test water temperature, check water flow speed and capacity, determine water appearance, conduct chemical tests and test for the presence of life. The agar culture and dissolved oxygen kit allow you to perform additional experiments. Note: The agar culture must be refrigerated. Includes materials for 30 students and instructions. Grades 5–12.
