When Darwin left the Galapagos Islands, he had many questions about the arrival of life there. Here, he has written a letter to your students asking their expert advice on how plants and animals could have arrived on these remote, recently volcanic islands located 960km west of Equador. Using this kit, your students will explore currents, winds, dispersal and distribution. With your guidance, they will design a lab for testing seeds soaked in salt water to observe if they grow. Includes materials for eight student groups and excellent instructions for implementation. Grades 6–10.
