This is our 3rd launcher we purchased in the last 2 years. Each Spring I set up a Spring Science Fling with 175 1st and 2nd grade students. The students go through 8 Aerospace related Science Centers which are run by trained parents. By far the Science Fling favorite is the Triple Bottle Rocket Launcher. Each kid gets to pull the string and launch their rocket. It is an exciting site to see 9 bottles shoot up simultaneously. The kids count down aloud and pop the rocket burst forth with water showering the crowd of giddy kids and parents. Quite an awesome learning tool as well. We discuss and test all the different possibilities of launching a bottle with all water and all air and no water etc. The kids enjoy this center the most. The launchers are sturdy and easy for me to train an adult in a few minutes on how the system works. Now that we have three launchers our fun has tripled and we are able to get all 175 kids through the center to launch more efficiently. Thanks for the cool contraction. It rocks!

I have made several different water bottle rockets of my own and the hardest thing about using them with a large group is having to launch one at a time since it takes a while to pump up the bottles. This worked great. We could launch several at once or one at a time with the shut off valve. I didn't have a single miss fire. You do need to make sure that the bottles you have fit over the launcher. Some types of bottles are too big and you won't be able to build enough air pressure. Name brands like Pepsi and Coke work well. I also liked that the post where the bottle attaches can rotate. It makes it very easy to put the bottles on the launcher without losing water.

My kids really enjoyed the triple bottle rocket launcher. The ability to pressurize each bottle differently made for a great experimental process. I had the kids predict if more water or more pressure was the most important factor, then we actually preformed the experiments. We launched rockets all day and the kids had a great time seeing which factor would make the rocket fly the highest.

This launcher design is outstanding at first look. Folds flat for easy storage, ball valves allow each launcher to be isolated a very good design until you go to actually launch the bottle rockets. Even using plenty of petroleum jelly as a lubricant the launcher would not seal up and while pumping all of the water and air would leak out around the base of the bottles before we could launch making for a very dissapointing day for our science club. We ended up having to use an old cable tie launcher I built years ago and refurbished quickly later in the afternoon. I tried replacing the o-rings with the replacement ones supplied but that made no difference. I will try getting some larger ones from the hardware store to see if that makes a difference.
